Let's Get Started, shall we?

It will probably be a few days, but My latest project is Honey Lemon from Big Hero Six.  Her battle outfit.  Because this doesn't seem to have been cosplayed much yet, there's not a lot out there.  I've had my first adventure in helmet making (still am) where I learned what Pepakura is (hopefully we will have that adventure later).  Anyway...pictures and tutorials in the not distant future.

I also plan on putting up the cosplays and costumes I've done in the past and will try to put up tutorials for things I've learned along the way (corset making, synthetic fabric dying, bow making...).  Merida (from Brave), Rapunzel (Tangled), Wasp (Earth's Mightiest Heros), Han Solo and various other general costumes.

As a part of all of this, I will try to post a trove of reference photos, additions are always welcome.

So...it's been at least 7 years

since I first signed up to have a blog here.  Sure, I've had Live Journal and I once had my own poorly designed web page back in the 90s (when I first thought I'd lead a revolution), the very heavily visited onegirlrevolution.com.  But here we are.  I'm a little older, sometimes I think I'm a little wiser, I have a smart, beautiful, amazingly talented, geek of a daughter (to be fair, she may have gotten that last from me), I married a man I thought I'd be with for forever and then found out that forevers should be reserved for your children, your animals, and if you're lucky, one or two special people who accept that you are only you and love you anyway.

But I'm not here to be maudlin. 

I create a lot (and therefore, I suppose, I am?) and I might as well share it.  As I say over in my profile, my daughter cosplays.  I sew and have a bit of a creative streak (and a stubborn streak that sends me into the internet wormhole when I don't know what something is or how to do/make something- and that applies to far more than cosplay) and have been creating outfits, costumes and various other things since she was a little girl.  So, I thought my descent into the wormhole might as well provide some insight to others since cosplay has recently spawned a legion of creators (the more the merrier).

Ask me questions.  I'll help as best I can, if I can.  Please be patient...I (try to) have a life.
